Cowes Yacht Haven is at the heart of the sailing world. There are a number of resident berth holders and many visiting yachtsmen come here for the unique setting and its famous marine events. The Yacht Haven remains one of the most popular sailing destinations in The Solent and along the South Coast. It is protected by a block-built sea wall.
Unfortunately, a number of the blocks weighing 2.5 tonnes each have fallen off over the years and MMC diving services were contracted to re-install them. We designed and fabricated a custom built lift consisting of two davit arms and chain-pulls to lift the blocks into position safely without the need of a barge bobbing up and down with the passing traffic.
Other works included fabricating new brackets and welding them on underwater.
