Over the years MMC Diving Services have been on call 24/7 for emergency call outs. The IWCC have a number of pools on the IOW, all of which have had tiles pop off or re-grouting needed due to the harsh environment the grout is subjected to.
During the summer of 2012, 60 wall tiles brokeoff, and we were called in to restore them just weeks before The Island Games were due to start.
With one or two tiles missing from a wall it's possible to replace them however with such a large area the council were faced with having to close down, drain and fix the problem.
MMC Diving Services designed and built a custom coffer dam to enable the area to be drained just around the affected area, this did not involve any closure or changes to the pool opening times or the huge expense of draining the pool.
