Raymond Brown Construction Ltd have been working with the Poole Harbour port authorities to replace the deteriorating sheet pile wall just north of the chain ferry. This involved removing large areas of rock armour in front of the existing wall with their excavator. Once the area was cleared, there still remained a number of large obstructions they were unable to lift.
MMC Diving Services were called in to survey the site, concluding that a number of the limestone rock boulders were still partly submerged and wedged tightly together against the wall. Our dive team air lifted around these obstructions, stropping them individually and removing them from the area to enable the new sheet piles to be installed without hindrance.
